Dialer

The dialer is a slim bar that docks into GoHighLevel’s own top header. It’s where you join a campaign, go Ready, take calls and record outcomes — without ever leaving the screen you’re working on.

Nothing appears on its own. Click Dialer in GoHighLevel’s sidebar and the bar drops into the header, in the empty space left of your account icons; click it again to put it away. On a screen with no GoHighLevel header the bar floats at the bottom of the page instead.

Docked in the header, the bar is fixed where it sits. On a screen where it floats, a grip of dots appears on its left edge (Move dialer) and you can drag it anywhere you like; that position lasts for this session only. The bar itself stays with you as you move around GoHighLevel — and so does any call on it.

The dialer also adds buttons to GoHighLevel’s own screens: a call button on a contact, and list buttons on a contacts list.

Until you sign in, the status pill reads LOGGED OUT in red and the bar says Sign in to use the dialer.

Click Sign in (or the cog, which opens the same pane) and the form appears below the bar: Email, Password, Sign in, and Forgot your password?, which resets your password without opening another tab. There’s no way to create an account here; your admin makes accounts under Users.

The left end of the bar, under the caption Dialer Status, is a coloured pill: the status and a clock. The clock counts how long you’ve been in that status — except on a live call, where it’s talk time.

Pill Colour What it means
IDLE grey Signed in, not in a campaign. No calls will reach you
CONNECTING… green Your phone line is being set up
READY green In a campaign and available. Calls are handed to you automatically
PAUSED yellow In a campaign, but not being given calls
DIALING / RINGING blue / indigo A call you started is on its way out
ON CALL blue Connected
WRAP UP violet The call ended; record what happened

A red pill means something is wrong — see Troubleshooting.

Once you’ve joined a campaign a bare number appears next to the status pill: how many callers are on hold right now that you can take. Grey at zero, yellow the moment someone is holding, red at five or more. Hover it for the long version — “3 callers waiting that you can take”.

It’s filtered to you, so it never nags you about a call you can’t take, and it stays up through a call and through wrap-up. Two people holding is exactly the thing that should shorten a disposition.

The middle of the bar shows Select campaign until you pick one; clicking it drops the list below the bar. Only campaigns your admin has assigned to you are listed — if you have none, it says No campaigns assigned. Once you’re in, the picker is replaced by the campaign’s name. See Taking calls.

The right-hand group changes with your state, so you’ll never see all of these at once.

Control Appears What it does
Go Ready Paused Puts you back in the pool for calls
Pause Ready Stops calls being handed to you
Leave campaign Paused only Takes you out of the campaign
Reload contact On a call, at wrap-up Re-opens the call’s contact in GoHighLevel
Hold / Resume On a call Puts the caller on hold music
Transfer or add to call On a call Opens the transfer panel
End Call On a call Hangs up
Confirm / Pause after saving Wrap up Saves the outcome
Settings Idle or Paused Opens the settings pane
Exit dialer Idle or Paused Shuts the dialer down

Leave campaign, Settings and Exit dialer are hidden while you’re Ready, on a call or in wrap-up: Ready means a customer could be handed to you between the click and the request landing, so pause first.

Clicking the GoHighLevel page behind the bar closes the campaign picker and the settings pane, so the dialer isn’t sitting on controls you’re reaching for. The outcome picker and the transfer panel stay open — you’re mid-task there.

The cog opens a pane below the bar holding your account and Log out, your Microphone and Speaker, and the three Mic processing switches. See Settings.

The ✕ at the far right shuts the dialer all the way down — not just hidden, but unloaded, releasing your microphone. Opening it again from the sidebar starts fresh. There’s no confirmation, because the button is only offered when you have no live call.

The dialer runs in one place at a time. Open it in a second tab or window and that tab warns you first — A dialer session is already active in another tab or window., plus A call is in progress there. if there is one — with a single button: Start session here, or End that call & start here. Nothing is taken over until you click it, and the tab you leave behind then shuts its own dialer down.
